All along, Wujiang Development Zone has attached great importance to the cultivation of unicorn enterprises, and has given policy subsidies to selected enterprises in accordance with urban linkage to assist enterprises in independent research and development. In the list of potential unicorns and unicorn nurturing enterprises at the provincial and municipal levels, the selected enterprises in Wujiang Development Zone accounted for 60% and 2/3 of the region respectively; compared with 2021, the number of potential unicorn enterprises at the provincial level increased by 200%, and the number of unicorn nurturing enterprises at the municipal level increased by 67%, a record high.! Such companies are highly growth-oriented, not only can their annual growth rate easily exceed twice, ten times, a hundred times, or a thousand times, but they can also quickly realize IPOs. The larger the number of gazelle companies in a region, the stronger the innovation vitality and faster the development rate of this region. In 2022, 34 new municipal gazelle enterprises will be added to Wujiang Development Zone, accounting for nearly 60% of Wujiang District, and the number of selected enterprises will increase by 112.5% over the previous year.
